  • Le Prezien made it three wins from five starts since joining the Paul Nicholls stable when taking the Grade 2 totescoop6 Premier Kelso Hurdle over two and a quarter miles at Kelso. The five-year-old was bred in France by Jean-Raymond Breton and Thomas Trapenard, he is a son of the Yorton Farm Stud stallion Blue Bresil (by Smadoun), and he is the first foal out of Abu Dhabi (by Saint Cyrien). Talented horses in the family include the Group 3-winning filly Royale Chantou (by Cadoudal).

  • Bonny Kate was an odds-on winner of the Grade 2 8/1 Willie Mullins To Train A Cheltenham Winner At Coral.ie EBF Mares Novice Chase over two and three-quarter miles at Limerick. The Noel Meade-trained six-year-old, a daughter of the late Knockhouse Stud stallion Beneficial (by Top Ville), was bred by Robert Guiry. She is out of Peppardstown (by Old Vic) and so is a full-sister to the talented Mala Beach.

  • Barnahash Rose won the Grade 3 Kerry Group European Breeders Fund Shannon Spray Mares Novice Hurdle over two and three-quarter miles at Limerick, a first blacktype success for the Jonathon Sweeney-trained daughter of late Beeches Stud stallion Exit To Nowhere (by Irish River). Bred by Christopher Kenneally, the eight-year-old is out of Shean Bracken (by Le Moss), which makes her a half-sister to the Grade 2-placed multiple hurdles scorer Ask The Gatherer (by Be My Native).

  • Kilford won the Grade C Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Novice Handicap Chase Final over three miles at Navan. The Leonard Whitmore-trained 10-year-old was bred by Brittas House Stud, he is a son of the St Leger winner Snurge (by Ela-Mana-Mou), out of African Waters (by Be My Native), and he is a half-brother to the blacktype-winning chaser Colms Dream (by Beneficial) whose pedigree I reviewed in the 5th March 2016 edition of The Irish Field.

  • Many Clouds easily won the Listed totepoolliveinfo.com Premier Chase over two miles, seven and a half furlongs at Kelso. Last year's Grade 3 Grand National hero was bred by Aidan Aherne, he is trained by Oliver Sherwood, and he is a son of the Old Road Stud stallion Cloudings (by Sadler's Wells). He is a half-brother to the dual hurdles Grade 1 star The Tullow Tank (by Oscar) and his dam, Bobbing Back (by Bob Back), is a full-sister to the blacktype-placed staying chaser Back On Line.

  • Barney Dwan sprang a 14/1 surprise in the Grade 3 30th European Breeders' Fund Greenall's Gin “National Hunt” Novices' Handicap Hurdle Final over two and a half miles at Sandown. It is a first blacktype success for the Fergal O'Brien-trained six-year-old, a son of Longford House Stud stallion Vinnie Roe (by Definite Article). Bred by Grange Stud, his dam Kapricia Speed (by Vertical Speed) is a half-sister to the high-class pair Geos (by Pistolet Bleu) and Kapgarde (by Garde Royale).

  • Flying Angel won the Grade 3 Close Brothers Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle over two miles at Sandown, a first blacktype success for the Arctic Tack Stud stallion Arcadio (by Monsun). The stud also bred the gelding, a five-year-old trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies. A half-brother to the prolific Bhaltair (by Great Palm), his unraced dam Gypsy Kelly (by Roselier) comes from the family of the top chasing pair Soft Day (by Strong Gale) and Call It A Day (by Callernish).

  • The Nipper extended her unbeaten record to three with victory in the Listed EBF British Stallion Studs & TBA Mares' Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race over two miles at Sandown. A five-year-old daughter of Castle Hyde Stud stallion Scorpion (by Montjeu), the Warren Greatrex-trained bay was bred by W L Smith and partners. She is a half-sister to the point-to-point and dual chase winner Milly Malone (by Milan) and her dam, Sharp Single (by Supreme Leader), comes from the family of the Stayers' Hurdle (now World Hurdle) heroine Rose Ravine (by Deep Run).
