Champion sprinter Big Mojo has been retired from racing and will stand at Yeomanstown Stud in Naas, Co Kildare next year.

Winner of the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup in 2025, Big Mojo was European champion three-year-old sprinter that season.

As a juvenile he showed his speed when landing the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood in a track-record time, before finishing a very close second in the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster. The son of champion miler Mohaather finished his two-year-old campaign with a fine fourth placing in the Group 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint.

Big Mojo began his three-year-old campaign by winning the Group 3 Commonwealth Cup Trial Stakes at Ascot over six furlongs, before running a close second in the Group 1 July Cup.

Then came his impressive Group 1 victory at Haydock, a performance which earned him a European champion title.

This year Big Mojo continued to perform at a high level, landing the Group 3 Phoenix Sprint Stakes over six furlongs at the Curragh before running third in the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup.

Out of a blacktype performing No Nay Never mare, Jm Jackson, Big Mojo realised 175,000gns as a yearling when sold by breeders Ringfort Stud to Conor Quirke on behalf of owners Paul and Rachael Teasdale.

Yeomanstown’s David O’Callaghan said: "Big Mojo offers a great opportunity for breeders to use a champion sprinter who showed a lot of early speed when winning the Molecomb in track-record time at two, before excelling as a three-year-old to become Europe’s best three-year-old sprinter, following wins in the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup (again in record time) and the Group 3 Commonwealth Cup trial, while running second in the July Cup for good measure too.

"A beautiful horse, with oodles of ability. Sign me up.”

At Yeomanstown, Big Mojo will stand alongside champion sire Dark Angel, Group 1 July Cup winner Mill Stream and proven Group 1 sire Sands Of Mali.
