LAST Saturday, John O’Shea marked his final day as Godolphin’s head trainer in Australia with a Group 2 win in the Hollindale Stakes on the Gold Coast by the Doncaster Mile winner It’s Somewhat, an American-bred Dynaformer gelding.
On hand was Godolphin’s interim trainer, former top jockey Darren Beadman who has been part of the Godolphin operation for a number of years. “I haven’t had time to absorb what’s happened this week but I’m a bit excited about the next stint,” said Beadman. “John has been a great friend of mine and he’s taught me a lot over the past couple of years.” Beadman officially took over the Godolphin operation from Sunday.
