THE Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable put their imprimatur on Sunday’s jumps meeting at Pakenham, winning four of the seven races including the feature Brendan Drechsler Hurdle with a trio of Irish-bred horses and another bred in Britain. With Steven Pateman on board, and each of the four sent out as short-priced favourites, the performance of Norway in winning the $100,000 Brendan Drechsler Hurdle by 10 lengths was the highlight.

“That was very impressive,” said Maher. “It’s like that maiden win really awakened him, he’s just thrived since and you could see it when he was walking around the mounting yard before the race.
