WEDNESDAY’s final session of the Inglis Easter Weanling and Broodmare Sale marked the end of 112 years of horse sales at the company’s famous Newmarket complex whose expansive fig tree in front of the circular parade ring symbolised an era now ended.

“Whilst understandably people are a bit emotional tonight at leaving Newmarket, I encourage everybody to look forward to what we have coming at Riverside Stables, because it truly is going to be a world-class precinct,” said Inglis managing director Mark Webster.
