DUAL Group 1 winner and successful sire Youmzain is due to arrive at Glenview Stud in Fermoy, Co Cork this weekend.

The son of Sinndar is relocating from France following some eyecatching performances by his first runners over jumps this season.

Bred by Frank Dunne, Youmzain is a half-brother to Crachadoir, sire of this season's Arkle Chase winner Footpad. When trained by Mick Channon, Youmzain raced 32 times over six consecutive seasons. He won six races, including two Group 1s in France and Germany, defeating Soldier Of Fortune in the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud. He also won the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York.

However, Youmzain will also be best remembered for finishing second in three successive runnings of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe behind Dylan Thomas, Zarkava and Sea The Stars.

Retired to stand at Haras du Quesnay, Youmzain is already the sire of a Group 1 winner on the flat. His daughter Sea Calisi won the Beverly D Stakes at Arlington in 2016 and his son Royal Youmzain won the Group 2 Gran Criterium at San Siro last October.

Over jumps his son Delire D'Estruval won a listed novice hurdle at Haydock this season, while the Willie Mullins-trained Saglawy (listed placed in France) won a Gowran Park maiden hurdle by 15 lengths earlier this month.

His fee has yet to be announced.
