XSQUARED won for the second time in 48 hours when lifting the Vinegar Hill Chase at Wexford. Winner of a mile-and-a-half handicap on the flat at Fairyhouse on Wednesday evening, Peter Fahey's eight-year-old was as fresh as paint as he completed a quick double in ready fashion.

Held up by Kevin Sexton for most of the two-mile contest as Pumbaa made the running, Xsquared (3-1) took closer order in the straight. Jumping into the lead at the final fence, Xsquared, who also won over fences at Limerick last month, ran on strongly to beat the 9-10 favourite Gambling Girl by three and a quarter lengths.
