FRIENDS for life is a saying that comes to mind when it comes to describing Jack Martin and Jordan Kidd who teamed up to win the junior pairs IPC hunter trial championships at Annaharvey last weekend.

Jack and Jordan first sat beside each other on their first day at Lismullen National School at the age of four. That was the start of a very solid friendship, throughout primary school and onto secondary school where they still sit beside each other. Together they joined the Meath Hunt Pony Club at the age of 10 and thanks to the wonderful instructors Kay Nolan and June O’Reilly, they are proving their strengths at all disciplines of riding. They were both part of the winning team that won the interschools show jumping competition in Killossery Lodge EC last month for their school Castleknock College. Later this month, Jack will be representing the Irish Pony Club at Mounted Games in Wales. Jack is the son of race horse trainer Pat Martin and the grandson of race horse breeder Tom Brennan. He spends his free time riding out his father’s racehorses.
