RECENT winners of point-to-point maidens in the northern region hit the heights at last Friday’s Brightwells’ sale at Cheltenham.

Maralin scorer Stilletto, trained by Andrew Latta for his grandfather Bill Powell-Harris, owner/breeder of the Westerner five-year-old, was knocked down to Roger Brookhouse for the sale’s top price of £130,000. A neck second in that maiden, Kavanaghs Corner was bought for £75,000 by Simon Earle.
