2.10 Wexford Mares Maiden Hurdle 2m

Hauturiere can get off the mark on her third start for the Willie Mullins yard. Although the five-year-old has now finished second on each of her racecourse outings, she looks a genuine sort who shouldn’t be long in winning. In what appears an ordinary enough contest, she can take this before going on to better things over the coming months.

Banntown Girl has plenty of hurdling experience, being placed in both listed and handicap company already. While she is probably vulnerable to a mare with a touch of class, it will take an above average performer to beat her.

SELECTION: HAUTURIERE

Next Best: Banntown Girl

Dual point-to-point winner The Blind Piper was a disappointing favourite last time but arguably faces an easier task now. Dropping back in trip is the biggest worry, but if he is ridden prominently, he should be involved in the finish. The nine-year-old is unlikely to get a better opportunity to lose his maiden status over flights.

Mount Brown, who shaped well on his recent hurdling debut, looks best of the remainder. The Noel Meade-trained runner is sure to have come on from that initial outing and won’t have to be anything special in order to make his presence felt.

SELECTION: THE BLIND PIPER

Next Best: Mount Brown

3.20 M2 Construction, Wexford Novice Handicap Hurdle 2m

Saga Aravis can take this prize for the local stable of Paul Nolan. An impressive winner at Naas in December, he ran equally as well in a stronger contest at Gowran Park last time. Despite steadily creeping up the weights, he could well have a bit more to offer and would be a very popular winner if coming home in front.

The Niffler, a winner at Punchestown last month, arrives in excellent heart of has to be a big player. Strictly on collateral form he has a bit to find with the Nolan horse but should still be involved at the business end.

SELECTION: SAGA ARAVIS

Next Best: The Niffler

3.55 Micheal O’Murchadha Memorial Handicap Hurdle 2m

Arctic Warrior, who has been highly tried of late, should appreciate this drop into handicap company. Outclassed in Grade 1 novice hurdles on his last two starts, he had been an easy winner of his maiden at Sligo last year, hinting at better to come.

Now asked to compete in much calmer waters, he can get back to winning ways.

Blanketontheground would be of interest if attracting any market support on her return from an absence. The mare has been in rude health when last seen on the racecourse and would be a threat if close to full fitness on this first run in 403 days.

SELECTION: ARCTIC WARRIOR

Egality Mans looks the most likely winner despite the off-putting form figures. The Willie Mullins-trained eight-year-old has fallen in two of his last four starts but when he has stood up, he has looked a horse with serious potential.

A confidence-boosting run at Fairyhouse at the beginning of the year should have put him straight for this contest.

Column Of Fire was a very classy handicap hurdler at his best but has thus far failed to matched those exploits over fences. There is still time for him to get his act together but one would imagine we won’t see the best of him until he goes handicapping.

SELECTION: EGALITY MANS

Next Best: Column Of Fire

Point-to-point winner Nelly’s Money, who has picked up plenty of experience in handicap company, should get off the mark now. Robert Tyner has his string in great form of late and the nine-year-old can provide another winner for the popular Cork-based trainer.

Duchess Ravenwaves, second on her two most recent starts, looks the biggest danger. A smart handicapper both over hurdles and on the flat, she has taken well to fences so shouldn’t be too long in shedding her maiden tag.

SELECTION: NELLY’S MONEY

Next Best: Duchess Ravenwaves

Dancing City, winner of his sole point-to-point start for previous connections, is likely to be a warm order on his debut for Willie Mullins. The champion trainer does very well with his select runners at this venue and is likely to have had this race in mind for some time. It will be surprising if the five-year-old fails to make a winning racecourse debut.

Three Card Brag has to be of interest, being a well-bred sort, representing leading connections. A half-brother to two blacktype horses, he is sure to know his job despite never having raced in public before.

SELECTION: DANCING CITY

Next Best: Three Card Brag
