There was promise to be taken from how the Eoin McCarthy-trained All About Lucy shaped last time at Fairyhouse and she gets a tentative nod to open her account under rules in an open affair. She was no match for easy winner Lot Of Joy on that occasion but seemed to appreciate the switch to better ground than she faced on her previous start when disappointing at the Limerick Christmas Festival.

Thegingrin, who fetched £115,000 after readily winning a point-to-point on debut, proved a shade disappointing on her bumper debut at Limerick over the festive period but better can be expected from her now tackling an obstacle for the first time under rules. Zefania will be much more comfortable dropping into this company after being thrown in at the deep end for her Irish introduction last weekend at Fairyhouse.

2.15 Visit Wexford Maiden Hurdle 2m

This may not take a huge amount of winning as a maiden hurdle for horses who have run at least three times and have yet to be placed. Got To Fly, bred to be useful as a daughter of Walk In The Park out of blacktype performer Jacksonslady, hinted at winning potential for a race of this nature when finishing sixth and seventh respectively on her first two starts this season.

The J.P. McManus-owned five-year-old failed to show progress last time at Naas but should appreciate trying these calmer waters and remains unexposed. Parvos turns out just three days on from a pretty positive effort when fifth at Clonmel in handicap company and may not be far away at the business end.

2.50 M2 Construction, Wexford Novice Handicap Hurdle 2m

Strong market support behind Gringo D’Ainay on this card last year went astray when finishing third in maiden hurdle company but he arrives here on the back of an encouraging third at Punchestown last time and might belatedly open his account at the 10th attempt. Dropping back in trip doesn’t appear to be a negative for the John Queally-trained selection, who is narrowly favoured over Liam Burke’s representative Heliko Conti. The latter, an unexposed bumper winner who missed 328 days before finishing down the field behind Facile Vega in a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle in December, has been handed a fair opening mark of 106. Only One Plan could be an each-way price and has the potential to outrun his odds in first-time cheekpieces.

3.25 Micheal O’Murchadha Memorial Handicap Hurdle 2m

Provided he’s sharp enough on the back of a 167-day break, Britzka can be expected to make a bold bid under top-weight in Wexford’s feature event worth €22,000. His optimum conditions appear to be two miles on decent ground, and both of those boxes should be ticked here.

Jiving Jerry has been running with credit in competitive handicaps and should give another solid account, but this trip at a track like Wexford may not place enough emphasis on stamina to see him to best effect. Doyen Ta Win couldn’t be in better form as she attempts to bring up a hat-trick, but an 11lb rise for her latest win makes life tough.

Where It All Began can get off the mark over fences. He was a decent novice hurdler last season, winning at Tramore and then allowed to take his chance in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle. He made his chase debut at Gowran Park last month, and although well held in fifth, he had excuses - a possibly inadequate trip of two and a half miles and given it was his first run in 292 days. With that fitness banked and coming up to this trip, it’s reasonable to expect a much better effort.

Barbary Master hit the frame six times from 11 starts over hurdles but there is good chance he could be a better chaser and he should run to a decent standard here first time up. Robinstown has been searching for form recently and needs to put a couple of poor efforts behind him but he showed good form over hurdles and is definitely capable of better.

4.35 Eoin O’Gorman Solicitors Handicap Chase 2m 4f

A tentative vote goes to Aodhan May. The Charles Byrnes-trained mare produced a career best when just touched off by Wee Small Hours at Down Royal. That was just her third start over fences so she is open to plenty of improvement now.

Finnians Row finished behind her when sixth in that Down Royal contest, but he wasn’t beaten far and it was his second good run in a row, having finished third at the same course on his penultimate start. He seems to have found his level and a replication of that effort should see him involved.

Added Bonus has a 6lb penalty for a half-length win at Thurles but he is another with scope to improve as that was just his third start. With plenty of his rivals here out of form, he should go close.

5.10 ISF EBF Auction INH Flat Race 2m

Dancing City is a peculiar runner here, given he finished second in this race last season and hasn’t run since. He was beaten at odds of 1/5 that day but, as it transpired, he bumped into a smart performer in Three Card Brag. A year older now, he ought to be difficult to beat.

Littlefoot might give him the most to do. He has been second in Down Royal and Thurles bumpers and may be able to put his experience to good use.
