Wayne Lordan misses big weekend

WAYNE Lordan will miss next weekend’s Irish Champions Festival and Doncaster’s St Leger meeting having lost his appeal against a 10-day suspension for whip misuse. The ban stems from his ride on Aidan O’Brien’s filly Precise, winner of the Group 3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood. The timing is costly, as Ryan Moore is out for the season with a fractured femur, leaving O’Brien and Coolmore in search of top riders on one of the season’s most important weekends. Christophe Soumillon has already been booked by the Ballydoyle team and is expected to ride at Leopardstown and the Curragh.
