Originally from Kilfinane in Co Limerick and latterly based near Portloaise, she was a veterinary surgeon who rode and trained her own horses until her daughter Kate took over in the saddle in more recent times.

Paying tribute to her during RTE’s Galway coverage this week, Ruby Walsh recalled how Mrs Harrison had beaten him by half a length in a Listowel Festival bumper in 1996, riding her own mare Antics. She is survived by her husband Michael and children Claire, John and Kate.
