TOMBSTONE beat Jezki in the Grade 3 Red Mills Trial Hurdle at Gowran Park last weekend, and incredibly this was his first blacktype win. The Gigginstown House Stud-owned seven-year-old is a horse that has always been held in the highest regard by his trainer Gordon Elliott, and some might even consider that he is unlucky not to be a Grade 1 winner already.

Last year he was second to Bleu Et Rouge in the Deloitte Brave Inca Novice Hurdle, with Bellshill third and Petit Mouchoir fourth, and was beaten less than a length in the Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle. He hasn’t finished worse than fourth in his nine career starts to date and has visited the winners’ enclosure four times, twice in bumpers.
