Aided by glorious weather, bumper crowds and a world class field, last week’s five-day Tattersalls International Horse Trials fixture lived up to and possibly exceeded all expectations.
The record entry, which featured riders from 16 individual countries, was highlighted by an unprecedented number of 24 Olympic riders. Some 33,000 spectators streamed through the gates, while the online live streaming was shared by over 24,000 viewers from 74 countries.
British riders fared very well, winning six of the eight international classes, all bar the pony and junior competitions.
