TATTERSALLS Ireland has renewed its sponsorship of the two-mile Grade 1 novice hurdle at Leopardstown’s Dublin Racing Festival for the next three years.

The €150,000 contest was won this year by Sir Gerhard, who went on to win at the Cheltenham Festival. The two previous runnings were won by Derby Sale graduates Asterion Forlonge (2020) and Appreciate It (2021).

Tattersalls Ireland CEO Simon Kerins said: “We are delighted to continue our support of the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown which has undoubtedly established itself a highlight of the jumps season in such a short period of time.

Vendor support

“The success of this year’s Derby Sale was down to the phenomenal support of our vendors who sent us their best and being able to host our loyal clients at the epicentre of the action in the Legacy Lounge is invaluable ahead of our Store Sales inspections.

“Sponsorships of this calibre highlight Tattersalls Ireland’s commitment to supporting the Irish racing industry and we look forward to continuing this partnership and working with the fantastic team at Leopardstown.”

Since inception

Leopardstown chief executive Tim Husbands added: “It is terrific that Tattersalls Ireland has signed on to continue their partnership with Leopardstown having sponsored Grade 1 races for several years and have been part of and supported Dublin Racing Festival since its inception.”

The sales company is again offering a package that will offer sponsorship to all Irish point-to-point fixtures this season, and also sponsors races at some British point-to-points. The Irish autumn season starts this weekend.
