FOR the third month in-a-row, Wexford’s Bertram Allen is the top-ranked Under 25 show jumping rider in the world, while Derry’s Daniel Coyle is at No.3.

The FEI launched the U25 World Rankings in January of this year and 23-year-old Allen has been at the top of the standings from the beginning following a string of impressive results. A win at the five-star World Cup show at Basel in Switzerland in January was followed by a double of victories at the Hong Kong Masters the following month. March saw Allen again score a five-star win, this time at Doha in Qatar before he added further wins at s’Hertogenbosch in The Netherlands.

Derry’s Daniel Coyle has also been in excellent form across the Atlantic, clocking up two wins in U25 classes at Wellington in Florida.

The FEI U25 World Rankings show the future of Irish show jumping looks extremely bright, with Mayo’s Michael G Duffy in 13th, Kildare’s Michael Pender up to 19th place, Mayo’s Cormac Hanley in 21st and Galway’s Michael Duffy lying in 28th place.
