LAST Monday’s Aloga Auction of show jumpers, dressage horses and American hunters at Sentower Park in Belgium generated sales of almost €10 million.
The highlight of the evening was the sale of the seven-year-old stallion Orpheus (Jappeloup x Chaman), who achieved the top price of €2.1 million, when sold to a Swedish buyer. Having been part of the Allen family’s Aloga Stables since his six-year-old season, Orpheus had already recorded an outstanding 89% clear-round rate internationally, with only a single time fault from nine rounds.
Another highlight was the sale of Ella Gold, sold to Germany for €850,000. She has started her eight-year-old season strongly with 18 clears from 20 international rounds.
Strong participation
Horses were successfully sold to buyers in Norway, Sweden, Austria, the United States, Poland, Ireland and Germany, with strong participation both online and in the auction room. Total turnover was €9,633,000 and the average price for the show jumping horses reached €476,579.
Bertram Allen commented: “It is especially rewarding to welcome so many returning buyers each year, reflecting the trust and confidence they place in the Aloga Auction.”
