TIPPERARY’s Denis Lynch and the stallion All Star 5, showed that they are the form combination in world show jumping at the moment, by finishing as runners-up in the two biggest classes at the five-star show in Zurich last weekend.
Lynch’s Swiss double began in last Friday’s 1.55m Longines Grand Prix, where he and the 13-year-old All Star were one of 16 combinations to make it through to the jump-off. A brilliant clear against the clock saw Lynch take the lead, stopping the clock in 36.48 seconds. Only a last gasp clear by Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet with the 12-year-old Citizenguard Taalex denied the Irish rider victory, when they posted the winning time of 34.94.
