STEPHANIE McGlynn, who lives on The Curragh and is an instructor with RACE (the Racing Academy and Centre of Education) in Kildare, won Friday’s racehorse to riding horse championship with her open class winner, Mickah Wallace.

Bred by Kildaragh Stud, this five-year-old Anjaal gelding finished unplaced in five runs on the flat in 2021 when trained by Mark Cahill. However, since his career change, the bay has shown winning form in the show ring at Tullow last year and at the Show of the East early last month.

Amy May Lambert was beckoned forward into the reserve slot with her novice class winner, Gold Bullet. This 15-year-old Generous gelding, who was bred in Co Down by Jimmy Larkin, was trained first by Michael O’Hare (for whom he won a bumper and was placed twice) and then by Tom Taaffe who saddled him to win two hurdle races and two chases. On his final two starts, Gold Bullet carried the colours of Amanda Torrens.
