Meade is the first female president

AT the AGM of the All Ireland Polo Club last week, Derville Meade was elected as the first female president of the organization, which was established in 1873. Based in the Phoenix Park in Dublin, the All Ireland Polo Club is regarded as the oldest in Europe, and hosts practice chukkas every Thursday which are open to spectators. The club also holds charity events and tournaments throughout the summer. Speaking after her appointment, Meade, who has been playing polo in the Phoenix Park since 2002, said: “I am very honoured to accept the role of President, and I’m looking forward to a busy two years.” For more information including tournament dates and schedules, go to allirelandpoloclub.com or check its social media channels.
