IRISH hopes of a win in tomorrow's Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup at Hickstead rest on Bertram Allen; Billy Twomey; Anthony Condon and Shane Breen - all named this afternoon by Irish chef d'equipe Robert Splaine.

The Irish team jumps first tomorrow out of eight teams.

Allen, who turns 21 on Monday, rides his reliable partner Molly Malone V while Twomey's mount is seasoned campaigner Diaghilev. Waterford's Anthony Condon will jump John Hales' talented Aristio, on whom he excelled with a double clear at the recent Falsterbo Nations Cup and Tipperary's Shane Breen rides Golden Hawk, runner-up in the Longines Grand Prix at the RDS last weekend.

Splaine said: "Thankfully our place in next year's top league, and in the Furusiyya league final in Barcelona this September, are secured at this stage. However, this is not the case for many of the countries here and as a result top teams have been fielded, which will make tomorrow's Nations Cup a hugely difficult contest. Our lads are really up for this and we hope to do well."

This leg of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup Series at Hickstead is the last leg in the 2016 series, with the final taking place in Barcelona, Spain, from September 22nd to 25th. Action kicks off tomorrow at 14.15 GMT.
