THIS week was an extra busy but enjoyable one, attending the Cartier Awards in London, chairing a well-attended seminar for Next Generation, the ITBA’s body for younger members, and opening the Irish Equine Veterinary Conference in Kilkenny yesterday.

Having been asked to address the 100 delegates to the conference I picked as my theme – again – the poor coverage successes in our sport and business get in the national, non-racing press and on airtime. I naturally wondered if I was being fair, feeling that perhaps we should be getting more than we actually deserve.
