MARTA Hughes Bravo won at her home venue when she partnered her mother Marion’s 17-year-old home-bred HHS Figero (Guidam x Cavalier Royale) to victory in the 1.35m Tranziberia and Horse Sport Ireland-sponsored 1.35m Grand Prix. The duo recorded a second phase time of 26.56 to see off all the other 40 competitors.
Eddie Moloney and Damma Kannan Supreme (Kannan x Camiro De Haar Z) took second place in 27.36 for owner/breeder Niall Greene.
Richard Smyth’s home-bred Mulvin Cliodam (Luidam x HHS BR Charlton) and Jonathan Smyth were third in 27.75, while Moloney and his second mount, CSF Gabby Abbey (Kannan x Lancer III), took fourth for owner Mark Williams and breeder Shane Connelly.
Fifth went to Sean Managhan and his own seven-year-old mare Cornet Clover Girl, and sixth was Michelle Kenny riding her own Martin McGlynn-bred Mohill Rosetta (Omar x Glen Bar).
Marta’s sister Molly Hughes Bravo was crowned the leading lady rider of the show and received a prize from Harry FitzPatrick, while Grand Prix winner Francis Derwin Jnr was the leading young rider of the show, receiving a SUOMY hat by Choice Equestrian.
