FOR the final time this year, judges Thomas Schonig from the Hanoverian Society and Roland Metz from the Holsteiner Verband selected their top eight four-year-olds to go forward to the Dublin Horse Show.

A large field of 80 lined out to be judged and marked out of 200 on jumping technique/natural ability, future ability and rideability, and then their final score was divided by two.

The highest mark on the day went to Gone Girl VB (Emerald Van’t Ruytershof - Cobra) who scored 83.5 with Vincent Byrne in the saddle.

The Minister for Defence’s CBI Slieve Bloom (Douglas - Colestus) and Lt Adam Benson Byrne were runners-up on 83 points.

Ronan Rothwell’s Boleybawn Alvaro (Dominator Z - Crown Z), ridden by Jack McKeon, were third on 80.5.

DPS Dynasty (Goodluck VDL - Captain Clover), owned by Dara O’Malley and ridden by Shane Goggins, took fourth place with a score of 76.

Leah Stack guided PJ Ryan’s Moynetemple Magic (Cornet Obolensky - Abby V Overis Z) into fifth place with a mark of 75.5.

Sixth place went to Alan Ivan McCoosh’s TMSH First Class (Sligo Candy Boy - Diamond Serpent) and Trudie Hermione McCoosh on 74.

Bonnaroo (Aganix Du Seigneur - Lux Z), owned by Paddy Sweeney and ridden by Robyn Moran, also scored 74 for seventh place.

The eighth and final place in the four-year-old division for the 2022 show went to Marguerite Ryan’s Kilnamac Cody (Diamant De Semilly - Cruising) and Aoife Dooley on a score of 73.5.
