WINNER of the seven-year-old DAFM Studbook Show jumping Series class, hosted by Glenamaddy Equestrian Centre in Co Galway, was Damien Griffin riding Ardragh DRC Drifter, when he lodged a double clear in 36.99 seconds. This stallion was bred by Griffin’s friend Oliver Ward and was bought by his friend Willie Cusack. He is by Ardragh Me O Moy and is out of the Kannan-sired dam, CSF Pippa. This line has proved very successful, with Ward selling offspring to Darragh Kenny.

Speaking after the win, owner Willie Cusack said: “I have been working with Damien for 20 years and I always wanted a nice horse to go to the shows with and get a bit of a buzz. I saw the horse as a three-year-old and thought he was very nice, but at the time I wasn’t interested in buying something. When the horse was five years old, Oliver had the chance to sell him to America, and it was then that I bought him. Since we bought him, I have had nothing but fun and I know we will continue to have fun days. No matter where he jumps, I will be there to see him.”
