ALTHOUGH riders have been restricted due to the pandemic, they lacked nothing in terms of talent and this was evident at the Showjumping Ireland National Pony Championships at Mullingar last week. As in previous years, Mullingar Equestrian’s Robert Fagan and his staff pulled out all the stops to make it an enjoyable championship for competitors and their families.

Over the course of the event, 78 classes were on the schedule and after four days of intense competition, the national champions were decided. Ruben Foley was announced as the Flexi Equine Overall Champion after he clocked up 111 SJI points over the course of the show.
