PONY rider, young riders and Children on Horses got their second opportunity to book their place at the RDS Dublin Horse Show at the Meadows EC last weekend.

Taking the win in Saturday’s 128cm decider, where there were seven tickets on offer, was Ruby Kelly and Killoran Bob when they delivered a triple clear in a time of 37.71. Kelly was chased home by Aimee Moloney who also came home with nothing to add aboard Ellis Island D’ Argan, in a time of 37.87.

Ulster rider Medb Kinney and Leiiaish Lady Penelope maintained a clean sheet in a time of 40.90 for third, ahead of Tim Hawkins and Neary Perfect who was a second behind in 41.90. DJ Kent was fastest of the four-faulters in the third round aboard Castlefield Messi in 33.03 for fifth, while Ellie Sheane and Newhaven Cooley finished sixth on four faults in a time of 36.12.

128cm six/seven-year-old

Just three qualifying slots were on offer for the 128cm six/seven-year-old qualifier. Leading the victory lap was Liam Concannon and the seven-year-old Creevagh Pringles on a score of 79 points.

Leinster rider Max Doran and Rosegate Castles In the Sky (6yo) placed second on a score of 77.50 with Georgia de Bromhead and Dough Pride (6yo) finishing third on 75.5.

Colm Widger and Thornberry Skylark were awarded 73 points for fourth place, ahead of Josh Rogan and WCE Hugo Me Go We Go on a score of 72.50. Completing the top six line-up was Tim Hawkins and O’B Poppet on 72 points.

138cm

In the 138cm division, with seven spaces to fill, four combinations delivered double clears. Fastest of those and taking the win was David Brennan and MHS Alaska in a time of 33.80. Harry Rush and Conaza Jayne opted for the safer route and it paid off as they came home clear in 35.93 for second.

Elizabeth McCracken and Drumcaughey Diamond kept the poles in place in a time of 37.55 for third, while in fourth was Cathal McKeon and Ruby Brown, clear in 39.11. Fastest of the four faulters and taking fifth was Ciara Cash and Seale’s Exchequer (40.97). Elizabeth McCracken and Tynan Rocket took sixth place as fastest of the clears in the first round.

138cm six/seven-year-old

In the 138cm six/seven-year-old class, Ryan Horgan and Orchid’s Serata stood out when awarded a score of 81.50 to take the win.

Second place was shared as Alayna Hawkins (Ballyduff Lad) and Cliodhna McEvoy (Blueoak Sophia) both finishing on a score of 75 marks.

A score of 74.50 for James Cleary and Matilda saw them take fourth place, ahead of Saoirse O’Neill and Carrnhill Rodge on a score of 73.50. The next placing was extremely close as Charlie Curran and CC Brittas Bay were awarded 73 points.

148cm

The 148cm division was decided over just two rounds, with five double clears being delivered. Taking the win was Ulster rider Zoe Keys and Victory Day II when they crossed the line in 38.22.

Lily Tunney and The Fireman were fractions behind in a time of 38.73 for second, while in third was Leon Van Cauwenberge and Carnone Katie in a time of 39.84.

Isobel Sheehan and Hasty Road took no chances and it paid off as she crossed the line clear in 40.32 for eventual fourth. Last of the double clears and slotting into fifth was Katie Nallon and Dunard Trixie Mix in 40.52.

Jack Kent was fastest of the four-faulters with RTS Tommy Dunn, in a time of 40.12 for sixth place.

148cm six/seven-year-old

In the 148cm six/seven-year-old class, five combinations delivered triple clears. Taking the win was Aoife Seery and Parkroe Rio in a time of 34.27. Munster rider Kate Lynch played it safe with Lahorna You Two and it paid off as she left all the poles in place in a time of 37.23 for second.

Lauren Adams took third when she clocked 39.38 with ASJ Samurai, while in fourth was Sam Widger and Poynstown Little Angel in a time of 41.58.

Last of the triple clears and slotting into fifth place was Harry Rush and Birchgrove Blue Delight, in a time of 41.70.

Emily Moloney and Pretty Little Dandelion clocked a very fast time of 38.68, but with one on the ground, she had to settle for sixth place.
