THERE was a small turnout for the second round of the SJI Summer Series qualifiers which took place at CoilÓg Equestrian last Saturday. Classes on offer ranged from 90cms up to 1.30m, all in a two-phase format.

A total of 11 combinations lined out for the 90cms class, and just six produced a double clear. Laura Carrick and her own My Foxy Lass were fastest of these in a time of 37.97 to secure the top-spot.

An even dozen started in the 1m class. Of these, six remained fault-free through both phases. Olywyn Alexander and her own Dutch-bred Faline proved best of the bunch stopping the clock at 38.84 for the win.

Some 29 combinations lined out for the 1.10m class; 14 of them provided double clears with Lisa Doyle and another Dutch-bred, Corland’s Clipper, the best of these in 33.79 for first place.

The 1.30m saw 18 go to post. Of these, 10 delivered double clear rounds.
