DERRY’s Daniel Coyle and Ariel Grange's 12-year-old mare Legacy finished best of the Irish when taking fourth place in today’s (Saturday) $500,000 five-star Rolex Grand Prix on the final weekend of the 2022 Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida, USA.

Just five of the 40 starters jumped clear in the first round, with Coyle and Legacy drawn third to go in the jump-off. Coyle produced the fastest time of the second round (44.09), however one fence down cost him victory.

The final result saw Israel fill the top two places with Ashlee Bond and Karoline Of Ballmore taking the win with a clear in 44.09, just ahead of fellow countryman Daniel Bluman and Ladriano Z in second with a time of 44.29. The only other double clear round came from Chloe Reid (USA) and Souper Shuttle to take third spot, while Offaly’s Darragh Kenny finished in eighth place with one of the fastest four fault scores from the first round aboard Great Tikila J.
