THE sun came out for the Wexford Equestrian two-day Grand Prix Show last Friday and Saturday, with good numbers being recorded in classes across the schedule.

On Saturday, the Mary Barry’s and Harmony Solar 1.40m Grand Prix saw 19 combinations battle it out. In the end, the win went north, as young rider Camryn Clarke delivered the winning round of clear in 36.90 aboard Conto De Reve. This pairing has been on the mark in recent weeks, claiming victory in the 1.40m two-phase in Mullingar CSI2*. Owned by Victoria Clarke, the 13-year-old gelding is by Hermes De Reve and out of the Conto-sired dam, Odessa IV. This pairing will no doubt be looking to book their place at Dublin Horse Show over the next few weeks, having got to the third round in Mullingar. Last year, Clarke won the 1.25/1.30m Championship aboard Sydney PMD.
