A SON of Royal Ascot winning first-season sire Prince Of Lir, consigned from Thomond O’Mara’s Knockanglass Stables, was the star at the relocated Ascot Breeze Up Sale which took place immediately after the Craven Sale on Thursday. The colt sold to Mark McStay of Avenue Bloodstock on behalf of trainer Joe Parr for £92,000. The colt is out of Harvest Joy, a dual two-year-old winner who was listed-placed. The new purchase will be aimed at the EBF Ballyhane Stakes scheduled for Naas on August 23rd.

Another colt by the Ballyhane Stud-based sire of this year’s Group 2 Norfolk Stakes winner The Lir Jet caught the eye of Matt Coleman and The Cool Silk Partnership. He cost £70,000 and was purchased from Micky Cleere’s M.C. Thoroughbreds consignment.
