A THREE-DAY run at Tattersalls Ireland drew to a quiet close with Part II of the September Yearling Sale and today’s auction was unable to match the figures from last year’s trying renewal despite posting a much improved clearance rate.

The number of horses sold improved from 66% to a very respectable 74% but, on the other hand, the aggregate dropped by 12 points to just under €1.1 million. The average of €6,200 fell by 14% and the median dropped from €5,000 to €4,500.
