THE performance produced by Battleoverdoyen in a maiden at Navan last Sunday was impressive to say the least and it was one of the most striking efforts to emerge from the novice hurdle division over the last few weeks.

The strapping five-year-old’s tour de force was one of several notable pre-Christmas displays last week but ultimately the focus of most discussions from last weekend surrounded the handicap hurdle won by Clementina at Fairyhouse on Saturday and, in particular, the absence of a running and riding enquiry into the fifth-placed finish of Ilikedwayurthinkin.
