EASILY one of the main talking points over the last week was the victory of Dreal Deal in a handicap hurdle at Navan last Saturday when Ronan McNally’s charge absolutely bolted up in the first division of a two and three-quarter miles handicap hurdle.

As most people are by now aware Dreal Deal was backed from as big as 20/1 the night before into 6/4 favouritism and he won as he liked despite nearly coming down at the first flight. Given that this five-year-old had shown next to nothing in seven previous racecourse outings questions were entitled to be asked by the relevant authorities.
