THE stalls incident which saw Diamond Jubilee favourite Harry Angel badly compromised and ultimately injured was one of the chief talking points of last weekend’s racing, and one of the most controversial.

For my part I was against him in print but unequivocal immediately after the race that he should have been withdrawn, and while that view was accepted by many, there were dissenting voices from experienced racing professionals, and it’s important that their views are aired first and the salient points are noted.
