TATTERSALLS Online is working with Treo Eile to host a sale of retrained thoroughbreds at the end of July.

A first of its kind, the sale aims to provide a high-quality platform to showcase the versatility of retrained racehorses, while offering a transparent and commercial route for their transition into second careers.

Entries will be open to retired or unraced thoroughbreds that meet defined performance criteria across key disciplines including eventing, show jumping, dressage, working hunter and showing.

Treo Eile will provide vendor support throughout the process, including guidance on preparation, retraining, and sale requirements.

All lots will be subject to pre-sale veterinary requirements and will feature a pedigree, racing and retraining history on their sale page.

The full catalogue will be published on the Tattersalls Online website two weeks in advance of the sale providing ample opportunity for prospective buyers to conduct enquiries and arrange inspections.

To highlight the long-term success of retrained racehorses, a shared €5,000 Treo Eile Graduate Bonus will be available to purchasers of sale graduates competing successfully across five selected competitions during the 2027 season.

The sale will run between July 27th and 28th, immediately after the Tattersalls Ireland July Show taking place at Tattersalls Ireland from July 24th-26th.
