JESSICA Murphy won the Intermediate championship at Killossery Lodge Stud on Sunday with her mother Melissa’s Darcy de Chanteloube but, frustratingly, only managed to be placed, twice, on Mary McDonnell’s Highview Royal Merlin.
The Co Wexford rider put matters to right on Wednesday at The Meadows where she and McDonnell’s seven-year-old gelding, who most disappointingly has no recorded pedigree, won the 153cm RDS working hunter qualifier on a score of 87.2. The combination also qualified last year for the Dublin Horse Show, where they finished second in their class to the Hannah Mackey-ridden Ella’s Melody who placed sixth in the 158cm class here.
