This can go to Aussie Girl. Fourth to Honey Girl in a decent Curragh maiden on the opening day of the season, she filled that position again in a Cork handicap off a mark of 78. Both those runs came over seven furlongs and while it’s a slight concern as to whether she’ll handle this sharper test, she isn’t any less likely to than her main rivals.

Those include Yuzu and Thunder Dance, with preference for the latter. Willie McCreery’s filly ran promisingly when third on her racecourse debut over seven furlongs and Cork. She should come on from that now.

On the face of it, Jessica Harrington’s Love Mocha was disappointing on her seasonal debut at Bellewstown, but after leading for most of the way over the mile there, she displayed designs of greeness and tiredness late on, when hanging to her right. She has the potential to improve now off the back of that run and coming back to this trip could suit her, whereas it may not suit some of her rivals.

Semblance Of Order is the one to beat on ratings, and can be viewed as unlucky not to have won a race so far this season, but all his good form is over seven furlongs and a mile.

Sin E Shekells ran well on his first start for Offaly trainer Joe Murray when third to Tawaazon at Navan and he looks the one to be on from a good draw. The six-year-old gelding struggled on four starts for James McAuley, who acquired the horse from Michael Dods. It was a case of much better when he ran at Navan, and he has a low draw to suit his prominent racing style tomorrow.

Celtic Manor won on his seasonal debut over this course and distance last season and will be a threat again, despite a 6lb higher mark.

Senado Square might be worth chancing. He ran no sort of race when favourite for a 23-runner handicap at the Curragh last time, but he was reported to have banged his head in the stalls and showed signs of that when examined after the race. Prior to that he looked a real progressive sort, finishing second at Dundalk and then winning comfortably at Naas. If back on that progressive trail, he can defy a wide draw and win again.

John McConnell’s Redshore City finished fourth in the Naas race mentioned above, which was a second solid effort having finished runner-up in a Dundalk claimer previously. He only has six starts to his name so has the scope to improve again.

This looks a good opportunity for Grappa Nonino. Dermot Weld’s gelding went close to winning off a mark of 63 last season and has since won a maiden hurdle and finished fifth in an Ascot handicap hurdle. He has improved significantly in that sphere and that makes him interesting now coming into this in good form and racing off a mark of 60.

Shane Crawley’s Kalmira made an excellent start to her season when finding only Black Hawk Eagle too good in a Navan handicap over this distance.

Dha Leath has to shoulder top-weight but she could well outclass this field. Gavin Cromwell’s filly was hugely progressive last term, improving from a mark of 68 to 95, but she showed she can be competitive off that mark when a three-length ninth of 27 in the Irish Lincoln on her seasonal debut. Most of her good form came over further than a mile so the step up in trip should suit. She could be tough to beat.

Miramis catches the eye on debut for Joseph O’Brien. She was progressive as well for Sheila Lavery last season, running reasonably well at listed level on her last two starts, and may well be able to continue that upward trajectory for her new yard.

This can go to Whisky On The Hill. Ado McGuinness’s gelding sprung to life when running a close third to Matt Connor on his handicap debut at Cork earlier in the month. He was arguably unlucky not to win, given he was forced to make his run wide, and though 2lbs higher, this looks a softer race so it’s hard not to see him going close.

Monnow Valley might follow him home. He failed to make an impact in maidens as well but ran much better on his handicap/seasonal debut when third to Apprentice at Tipperary.
