THE two-day Kilbeggan fixture scheduled for Thursday, April 25th and Friday, April 26th, has been cancelled, following a request from the racecourse committee.

While no further details were supplied by the racecourse or by Horse Racing Ireland when the news was announced on Monday afternoon, it is understood the racecourse committee needs more time to prepare for the racing season, following the sudden death of track manager Paddy Dunican over a week ago.

Wexford will now race on Thursday evening, April 25th, and Downpatrick will race on Friday evening, April 26th. Both tracks lost fixtures to bad weather recently.

Full details of the programme of races for both meetings will be published on the RAS website in due course.
