In just over 8 hours, the equivalent of £52 million was spent on 144 yearlings at Tattersalls, making it the highest turnover in a single day at a horse sale in European history.
The strange parallel universe of the bloodstock industry continues. I’m going to need a bigger gin.

An amazing and emotional win by Saltonstall yesterday. He’s the horse of a lifetime, a class act and loves his racing. Thanks to all the team who look after him so brilliantly everyday @adomcguinness1 @tipperaryraces @HRIOwners @jamesosul

I would like to address the current story and the photo contained in the article that have surfaced since Hot Rod Charlie’s win in the Lukas Classic. I swear on a stack of Bibles, that none of the horses in our stable wears toe grabs, and have not for years.

Another day of grim racing news - the death of Adagio; the Dewhurst withdrawal of Sakheer; the abandonment of Wincanton next week and only 23 declared for The Cesarewitch. I can’t actually remember the last good news racing story but I’m pretty sure it involved Sea Pigeon.
