THE Association of Irish Racehorse Owners made two very special presentations at Fairyhouse last Friday.

Along with Brendan and Angela Scully, the Association celebrated the life of former AIRO manager Aiden Burns by naming a race in Aiden’s honour. Also present was another stalwart of the AIRO, Bill Bourke, who recently stepped down as a director of the Association after 16 years of loyal service. To mark the occasion, Bill and his family were presented with a beautiful bespoke painting by renowned artist Jason Ó Ceannobháin.

AIRO manager Regina Byrne said: “Fairyhouse Racecouse deserve great credit as the level of service and quality of food was outstanding and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank Peter Roe and his staff for ensuring we all had a great evening.” See photographs on page 33.
