Jax Junior continued his progression with an impressive victory in the Ladbrokes Pendil Novices’ Chase at Kempton on Saturday.

Trained by Lucy Wadham, the seven-year-old looked a different proposition last time out on his first run since a wind operation and stepping up half a mile in trip he was even more impressive.
Go West, trained by Paul Nicholls who has such an incredible record in this Grade 2, was really enjoying things out in front until making a serious blunder down the back straight.
Jasmine Bliss was left at the head of affairs but when Tom Cannon gave Jax Junior (8/11 favourite) some rein he shot clear and a spring-heeled jump at the last sealed it by six and a half lengths.
Turn of foot
Klub De Reve displayed a fine turn of foot to once again show his liking for Kempton in the Grade 2 Ladbrokes Dovecote Novices’ Hurdle. The horse had won here over Christmas.

His task was made a little easier by the fall down the back straight of Double Measure as Koktail Bleu led them into the straight.
Nicky Henderson’s Mustang Du Breuil had been the subject of strong market support and tried to track Klub De Reve but he had no answer to the Paul O’Brien-ridden 7/2 chance.
Left clear
La Luna Artista was left to come home alone in the Ladbrokes Adonis Juvenile Hurdle.

The Jane Williams-trained filly had won two of her three outings over timber, finishing just over four lengths behind Maestro Conti in fifth last time out.
She was sent off a 15/2 chance in the Grade 2 and travelled supremely well into contention, still going better than the favourite Precious Man when he took a bad fall at the second-last.
La Luna Artista was unextended in winning by 13 lengths from Harry Derham’s One Horse Town.
Williams told Racing TV: “I thought she was up against it on the ratings today, but then I suppose I knew a bit more about her than anyone else.
“She hasn’t been hard trained this year and I thought she looked better today than she did at Cheltenham, where I thought she was unlucky as she got stuck in the mud turning in, she should have been third.
“I thought we’d be second if I was honest today, she’s a nice big filly, I buy horses and pages that I like the look of.
“She’s not in the Triumph, she’s got the Fred Winter entry but that can be a graveyard for some horses. We won’t supplement for the Triumph.
“She’s going to go chasing at some point, it’s not all about today and her pedigree certainly isn’t, we’re trying to buy chasers of the future.”
Sadly the favourite Precious Man suffered a fatal injury. Despite receiving treatment immediately by the racecourse vets he could not be saved.
