MEATH trainer Gavin Cromwell spotted the perfect opportunity for his three-year-old Famous Milly in the Listed 188Bet Fillies’ Juvenile Hurdle. Allowed to start at 10/1 in a race which did not look the strongest for the grade, she cruised through to pick off Paul Nicholls’ 4/5 favourite Malaya and went right away to score by 17 lengths.

The ground was officially heavy and Famous Milly’s price probably owed plenty to the fact that her form on the level was mainly at up to a mile but she finished in a promising second on her hurdles debut. On Saturday, she turned for home pulling double and went on to score easily. She is a taking individual and this may be the time of year to strike again with her.
