A TOP-10 sire in New Zealand for the past three seasons, Zed is not a stallion that springs to mind aside from one ‘verry’ unique individual.
By Zabeel out of the Danehill mare Emerald Dream, herself a granddaughter of the ‘blue hen’ mare Eight Carat, Zed was a maiden winner from four starts, but today can be found at the Corcoran family’s Grangewilliam Stud, one of the few New Zealand farms to have sold yearlings at every national yearling sale held at Karaka, though Verry Elleegant was not one of them.
