AMONG those at Saturday’s point-to-point at Loughbrickland was Comber’s Alan Buchanan who bred a winner mid-week in Jimmy The Jetplane. Trained by Kim Bailey and the mount of David Bass, the Jimble gelding won at Wincanton recently.
He is the last of five foals out of the Roi Guillaume mare C’Est Cool. The bay must like Wincanton as his only other track successes came there both last month and in April last year, both in handicap hurdles. He has also won two point-to-points in Britain. The Generous mare Let’s Hope So, who won her bumper first time out at Uttoxeter on Saturday, was bred in England by Alfred Buller. She is the fifth of seven foals out of the Zaffaran mare Baily Mist whose four wins included the Dawn Run Mares Novices’ Chase (Grade 3) at Limerick.
