WHILE all the attention was on Harzand on Derby Day, Paul Deegan saddled a double that same afternoon at the Curragh and it was all the more noteworthy as they were his first winners since he moved to a new yard in Athy.
He was based on the Curragh for some time, but he is delighted with the move saying: “The move has gone super. We always wanted to have our own set up and this place fits the bill. The gallop is great; the lads are very happy with it and the horses have settled in very well. We are in about a month or so and we are still tweaking things here and there, and while the Curragh has been very good to us, I have to say this place is just great.”
