WHILE ‘not letting the grass grow under his feet’ might not be most apt for a racecourse manager, it does apply to Tipperary’s Andrew Hogan. With a strong equine pedigree, he was fortunate to travel the world with his father’s Gordon Lord Byron. He kept his eyes open on those trips.

“GLB is the horse of a lifetime and I was fortunate to travel with him in his early days to Hong Kong, Dubai, Ascot, Haydock and others. It was experience to see first had how these racecourses were run,” he told me this week.
