EVERYONE involved in point-to-pointing throughout the country, never mind in the Northern region, was deeply saddened for the Smyth and Lennon families following the death in Monday’s Boylesports Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse of Tammys Hill.
The 2005 Tamayaz gelding was bred by Patsy Smyth whose son James rode the bay to eight of his 10 point-to-point victories, Mark O’Hare being in the saddle on the other two occasions. James also partnered Tammys Hill in all but two of his eight racecourse victories, highlighted by their wonderful success in the 2014 Foxhunters’ Chase at Cheltenham.
