SCHOOLBOY Barry McNamara sent this note and donation to the Irish Injured Jockeys fund. A.P. McCoy and Davy Russell have both been in touch with Barry to thank him personally.

IT was good to see a bevy of Tattersalls Ireland personnel not just talking the talk but walking the walk at the Dublin Horse Show last week as at one point, chatting in the exercise ring in between competing in various classes, were chairman Edmond Mahony, director Neil Walsh and marketing guru Niamh Flynn. Neil Walsh won the older geldings’ middleweight class on Clodiagh who he bought from Cyril O’Hara and Vincent Holian of Ennel Bloodstock at the back end of last year. Last Friday week was his first show so what a result. “I just wanted to take part in the show and have some fun, I told very few people in case I made a fool out of myself,’’ said a modest Walsh.
